Foster Care
Fostering is an important step in a pet’s journey to their forever home. A home environment is best for their health and wellbeing. Fostering cats and dogs allows them to thrive in a home environment and practice forming bonds with their caregivers. For pets who have been waiting longer for adoption, foster caregivers can help reassure adopters that these pets are a good fit for a home and speak to the type of home or family that would be the best match for the pet.
Angel of Hope is in constant need of foster homes for cats and dogs while they await adoption. Foster care can be as short as an overnight stay after surgery to a longer-term commitment that lasts until the animal gets adopted. Typically, foster care lasts for one to three months but may last longer. AOH will be happy to work with you to meet your needs and match the best foster pet to your household.
If you foster with AOH, you provide training, socialization and lots of love.
We will provide all pre-approved medical care and support for you while the animal is in your home, and the essentials like food, litter and other supplies needed to help ensure fostering is a great experience for you and the pet!

Animals in Need of a Foster Home
There are many reasons why an animal would need to be fostered. Angel of Hope Animal Rescue rescues cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. Some animals that need fostering are for socialization reasons (timid/scared, or extra spicy), some animals need to be fostered for medical reasons or are waiting on vet appointments or surgeries, etc. There are many different reasons animals need to be fostered before they can be adopted to their forever families. We’ll work with you to make sure you are matched with the animal(s) you feel most comfortable with.
These are the current animals we have in care that need fosters right now. They are all available to be fostered, as well as foster-to-adopt, if that is something that you are interested in as we well. Please email us at questions@aohrescue.org if you any questions.
Mack
Mack is a 1 year old Poodle/Wheaten Terrier mix, approx. 25-30 lbs. The family surrendering him tells us he is potty trained and crate trained. Mack is good with kids. He has not had a lot of interaction with other dogs, or cats, but the little that he has, he did fine with them. Slow introductions for Mack should be just fine.
Mack needs to be surrendered because the family is moving and they cannot take him with them.
We would like to help Mack and take him into our program, but we needs a committed foster before we can say yes! Is there someone out there willing to foster this sweet pup? If you would like to be apart of this dogs journey to finding his forever family, please complete our foster application here: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/18188/generic
Marin
Marin is a 6 month, all gray domestic short hair. Marin is very shy and takes a long time to warm up. She can be very skittish. She likes to find a hiding place where she feels safe. She is very sweet, but needs someone patient to love her and help her come out of her shell. She is very fond of treats and will come running if you shake the bag. Marin loves playing with little fluff balls. She does well with other cats and will tolerate dogs. If you would like to help this sweet young girl learn to trust humans, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Honey Bee
Meet Honey Bee. Honey Bee is approximately 2.5 years old. This pretty girl was abandoned near a local rural mailbox for days before being found by a person driving by. She checked with the homeowner that said they only check their mail weekly so the kitty could have been there a week! She is emaciated, and we believe she is blind or has very limited vision. She is learning how to navigate her current living quarters in our office at the moment. But would love a foster home to stretch her legs. Preferably a home without stairs, or if there are stairs, then baby gates up so she doesn’t fall down the stairs. As time goes on, she is becoming more and more athletic, and more and more fearless. Honey Bee is FIV positive. This kitty has been through a lot - and still remains one of the sweetest cats you’re ever gonna meet. We just need a temporary foster home for her so we can continue to have someone monitor her progress. Would you like to be part of this sweet girls journey? if so, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Ryder
Ryder is a 6 month old Siamese kitten who currently needs a medical foster. Ryder was recently diagnosed with FIP, and has just started the FIP medication that takes approx. 88 days to complete. This medication is an injection, so we will need an experienced foster for this litle guy. Could that be you?
Ryder is the sweetest, most curious little kitten on the planet. He loves to be held and and he loves to be be snuggled. Since being diagnosed with FIP, he has lost his vision. We are not sure if he will ever get it back, but it seems like he is able to see shadows sometimes.
Do you want to be part of Ryder’s journey to getting healthy again and finding his forever family? If so, please fill out a Cat Foster Application.
Delta
Delta is a 1 year black and white domestic short hair kitty. Delta is a very shy and timid girl. Once she starts to warm up to you, her little personality starts to show, and she really is the sweetest little thing. But it takes a lot of patience and time to get there. The shelter environment is not helping her in any way. She needs to be in a home setting to feel safe. Delta needs a foster home that will be patient with her and help her come out of her shell. Do you want to help this pretty girl succeed? If so, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Cassian & Feyre
Cassian and Feyre are a bonded sibling pair that are not doing very well in the shelter environment. They are very shy and need some better social skills. We think time in a home setting will help them come out of their shells and help show them that humans are good and not so scary! These two need to be fostered together. If you’re looking for double the love, double the fun, and two purring bundles of joy, Feyre and I can’t wait to meet you! If you would like to foster Cassian and Feyre, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Hi there! I’m Cassian, a handsome orange tabby with a bold streak hiding beneath my shy exterior. It might take me a little while to feel comfortable in new places or with new people, but once I know I’m safe, my playful and affectionate side really shines. I love exploring, chasing feather toys, and showing off my best zoomies—but only when I’m feeling confident. The best part about me? I’m part of a duo! My sister, Feyre, and I are a bonded pair, and we do everything together. She helps me feel brave when the world seems a little too big, and I love having her by my side. Whether we’re playing, snuggling, or just hanging out, she’s my partner in crime and my favorite cuddle buddy. I’ll need a patient and understanding family who can give me the time I need to adjust to my new surroundings. With love, kindness, and a little time, I’ll be ready to show you just how sweet and loyal I can be.
Hi there! I’m Feyre, a sweet and gentle tuxedo girl with a heart full of love. I might be a little shy at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, I’ll come out of my shell and show you my playful, affectionate side. I adore cozy naps, gentle pets, and exploring quiet, safe spaces where I can feel at ease. The best part about me? I’m never alone! My brother, Cassian, and I are a bonded pair, and we’re inseparable. Cassian is my rock—he makes me feel brave and keeps me company wherever we go. Whether we’re playing, cuddling, or just lounging together, we’re the perfect team. I’ll need a family who understands that I need time to adjust to new people and places, but I promise, the love and trust we’ll build will be worth the wait. If you would like to foster Cassian and Feyre, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Louisa May
Louisa May is a 4 year old white and black kitty. She was recently returned by her previous owner due to allergies. Unfortunately, every since she has been back at the shelter, she has been completely shut down. She is a very timid and shy girl and the shelter scene is only making it worse for her. She needs a foster home to take a nice long break in and finally just learn to relax. If you would like to foster Louisa May, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Minnow, Catfish, Walleye & Bass
These next 4 cats are Minnow, Catfish, Walleye and Bass. They came into our care after coming from a hoarding situation. They were very overwhelmed and scared when they got to Angel of Hope. Sadly, they have not mad any proigress whatsoeversince they have here. If anything, they have become more shut down. We are in desperate need of a couple of fosters that can really work with them and teach them that they can trust humans. They are 4 big tomcats that we know can be great companions one day. They just need time and patience! If you would like to foster one of these 4 f, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Rigatoni & Ravioli
Ravioli and Rigatoni are 9 month old siblings. They came into our care with 3 other siblings originally. Out of the 5, 1 of the kittens has been adopted, 2 of the kittens are currently living with a foster family, and these two are in need of a foster family… Ravioli is a real classy lady-she is slow paced and very poised. She loves temptation treats and has the special ability to fall asleep everywhere and anywhere. She is very fond of her brother Rigatoni and loves to snuggle. Ravioli would be okay with well-behaved dogs. Rigatoni has the craziest whiskers ever and the personality to go with them! Riggs is his nickname and he is a busy body always wanting to be part of whatever is going on. Dogs are cool in his world and he loves hanging out with is sister Ravioli! Unfortunately, both of these kittens are very, very scared and undersocialized. We tried bringing them to a PetSmart store, but it did not go well at all. They need time in a home to get used to people and learn that people are not bad! Over time, we have seen a little improvement. And we think with the right family, they can come out of their shells and thrive! Do you want to help these two misunderstood cuties? If so, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
We are in constant need of maternity foster homes.
Maternity Fosters
We get calls for people needing to surrender their pregnant cats, constantly. We are in constant need of some fosters who can take on a pregnant momma, and foster her until she has her kittens, and is done nursing! Experienced maternity foster would be ideal, but not required. Bonus: adorable kitten photos for days!
If you would like to foster a momma cat and her kittens, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Puppy & Dog Fosters
