The Importance of Pet Insurance

So you’ve just adopted your new pet, congratulations! Now what? We recommend signing up for pet insurance the day you adopt. We even offer 30-days of coverage included with all of our adoptions:

Pet insurance pamphlet given to each Angel of Hope adopter.

All pets from Angel of Hope are eligible for thirty days of pet insurance. The coverage does not start until you call them to register. We recommend calling and registering your pet as soon as possible, because it does not cover pre-existing conditions. For example, if your kitten starts sneezing four days after adopting them, if you had signed up on your adoption day, it would be covered by this insurance.

Granted, we don’t recommend adopting an animal if you would be unable to cover vetting costs; and if an issue arises with your adopted pet, per our adoption contract, Angel of Hope is no longer responsible for their vetting costs, so unfortunately that would fall on the adopter. The only other option would be returning your pet to AOH rescue, without reimbursement. That’s why pet insurance is so important.

Keep in mind, Angel of Hope does not profit from this partnership - we don’t receive funds if you sign up for this program. It’s just an incredibly useful option to have in your back pocket in case of emergencies.
