Foster Care
Fostering is an important step in a pet’s journey to their forever home. A home environment is best for their health and wellbeing. Fostering cats and dogs allows them to thrive in a home environment and practice forming bonds with their caregivers. For pets who have been waiting longer for adoption, foster caregivers can help reassure adopters that these pets are a good fit for a home and speak to the type of home or family that would be the best match for the pet.
Angel of Hope is in constant need of foster homes for cats and dogs while they await adoption. Foster care can be as short as an overnight stay after surgery to a longer-term commitment that lasts until the animal gets adopted. Typically, foster care lasts for one to three months but may last longer. AOH will be happy to work with you to meet your needs and match the best foster pet to your household.
If you foster with AOH, you provide training, socialization and lots of love.
We will provide all pre-approved medical care and support for you while the animal is in your home, and the essentials like food, litter and other supplies needed to help ensure fostering is a great experience for you and the pet!

Animals in Need of a Foster Home
There are many reasons why an animal would need to be fostered. Angel of Hope Animal Rescue rescues cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes. Some animals that need fostering are for socialization reasons (timid/scared, or extra spicy), some animals need to be fostered for medical reasons or are waiting on vet appointments or surgeries, etc. There are many different reasons animals need to be fostered before they can be adopted to their forever families. We’ll work with you to make sure you are matched with the animal(s) you feel most comfortable with.
These are the current animals we have in care that need fosters right now. They are all available to be fostered, as well as foster-to-adopt, if that is something that you are interested in as we well. Please email us at questions@aohrescue.org if you any questions.
Marin
Marin is a 6 month, all gray domestic short hair. Marin is very shy and takes a long time to warm up. She can be very skittish. She likes to find a hiding place where she feels safe. She is very sweet, but needs someone patient to love her and help her come out of her shell. She is very fond of treats and will come running if you shake the bag. Marin loves playing with little fluff balls. She does well with other cats and will tolerate dogs. If you would like to help this sweet young girl learn to trust humans, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Honey Bee
Meet Honey Bee. Honey Bee is approximately 2.5 years old. This pretty girl was abandoned near a local rural mailbox for days before being found by a person driving by. She checked with the homeowner that said they only check their mail weekly so the kitty could have been there a week! She is emaciated, and we believe she is blind or has very limited vision. She is learning how to navigate her current living quarters in our office at the moment. But would love a foster home to stretch her legs. Preferably a home without stairs, or if there are stairs, then baby gates up so she doesn’t fall down the stairs. As time goes on, she is becoming more and more athletic, and more and more fearless. Honey Bee is FIV positive. This kitty has been through a lot - and still remains one of the sweetest cats you’re ever gonna meet. We just need a temporary foster home for her so we can continue to have someone monitor her progress. Would you like to be part of this sweet girls journey? if so, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Ryder
Ryder is a 6 month old Siamese kitten who currently needs a medical foster. Ryder was recently diagnosed with FIP, and has just started the FIP medication that takes approx. 88 days to complete. This medication is an injection, so we will need an experienced foster for this litle guy. Could that be you?
Ryder is the sweetest, most curious little kitten on the planet. He loves to be held and and he loves to be be snuggled. Since being diagnosed with FIP, he has lost his vision. We are not sure if he will ever get it back, but it seems like he is able to see shadows sometimes.
Do you want to be part of Ryder’s journey to getting healthy again and finding his forever family? If so, please fill out a Cat Foster Application.
Delta
Delta is a 1 year black and white domestic short hair kitty. Delta is a very shy and timid girl. Once she starts to warm up to you, her little personality starts to show, and she really is the sweetest little thing. But it takes a lot of patience and time to get there. The shelter environment is not helping her in any way. She needs to be in a home setting to feel safe. Delta needs a foster home that will be patient with her and help her come out of her shell. Do you want to help this pretty girl succeed? If so, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Maternity Fosters
We get calls for people needing to surrender their pregnant cats, constantly. We are in constant need of some fosters who can take on a pregnant momma, and foster her until she has her kittens, and is done nursing! Experienced maternity foster would be ideal, but not required. Bonus: adorable kitten photos for days!
If you would like to foster a momma cat and her kittens, please apply here: Cat Foster Application.
Puppy & Dog Fosters
Angel of Hope is a foster based rescue. We do not have any puppies or dogs on-site, they are all in foster homes. So, in order for us to take in more dogs and puppies, we have to have committed foster homes ready to go. Could that be you? If you are interested in fostering puppies or dogs, please complete our foster application here.
