Kingsley and His Happily Ever After

Kingsley - the most handsomest cat in all the lands.

This is Kingsley. Kingsley was originally found as a stray and brought to the local impound. He had a broken pelvis and could not use his back legs properly. We took him into our care and knew that it wouldn't be easy or cheap to help him... But sometimes, we just need to take the leap and trust we will be able to raise the funds needed to help animals in need, like this handsome young man.

And thank goodness we did!  Because of our supporters (you!), we were able to raise the needed funds for Kingsley’s surgery he so desperately needed.

Kingsley loves to watch ‘Cat TV’ on YouTube.

He was put on a strict "no movement or play" for several weeks.  Then slowly over time, was allowed 15 minutes of movement/play per day, then 30 minutes, etc.

Kingsley taking a snooze.

Our vet team cleared him to be able to go to a foster family’s home – where is getting better and stronger, each and every day.

Kingsley is an amazing little guy. Everyone that crosses paths with him - instantly falls in love with him. He is the most easy going, calm, sweet, and affectionate cat you're ever going to meet.

Kingsley’s foster family would agree with that last statement – because they decided to make him a permanent part of their family! Kingsley was officially adopted, and is now considered a “Foster Forever!”  He is living his best life, and we are so happy for him!

Thank you to his new family, for opening your heart and home to one of our very special #angels.

We feel so honored that we got to be a part of Kingsley's journey to finding his forever home. We wish him nothing but the absolute best in his new life!

Happy forever, Kingsley!

KINGSLEY UPDATE!

July 20, 2022

Last week we introduced Kingsley, a stunning snow shoe Siamese cat, that came into our care from the local impound. Kingsley was found under a deck and pulled out with a rabies pole. He was dropped in a box and transported to animal impound. When he arrived, he was not able to get up on his back legs. He was held 9 days before he was released and we picked him up.

He has road rash on his ears, face and neck. And X-rays showed a severely out of alignment pelvis, and what we suspected, were three different breaks. One of those breaks had the bone near or touching his spine, which is a huge concern that it may cause more damage. After speaking with an Orthopedic Vet, he estimated the surgery to save Kingsley would be a minimum of $1,500.

Angel of Hope is a nonprofit organization, therefore we exist solely on the contributions of individual animal lovers like you. We do not receive funding from any local, state, or federal organizations.

Kingsley had to have a pretty bad haircut because of the surgery.

We knew when we picked Kingsley up from the local impound, that it wouldn't be easy or cheap to help him... But sometimes, we just need to take the leap and trust we will be able to raise the funds needed to help animals in need, like this handsome young man.

We are so glad we did! Because of YOU, and your generous donations, this sweet little guy, Kingsley, was able to have his surgery, and it was a success! He has a long road of recovery, but his prognosis is good.

KINGSLEY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

July 13, 2022

Kingsley is a Snowshoe Siamese.

We knew when we picked Kingsley up from the local impound, that it wouldn't be easy or cheap to help him... But sometimes, we just need to take the leap and trust we will be able to raise the funds needed to help animals in need, like this handsome young man. Introducing Kingsley, a beautiful snow shoe Siamese young man.

Kingsley was found under a deck and pulled out with a rabies pole. He was dropped in a box and transported to animal impound. When he arrived, he was not able to get up on his back legs. He was held 9 days before he was released and we picked him up. He has what appears to be road rash on his ears, face and neck - so we are assuming he was hit by a car.  As soon as we picked him up we contacted the clinic, he was sweet and purring, even though he is in a lot of pain. X-rays show a severely out of alignment pelvis, and what we suspect, are three different breaks.  One of those breaks has the bone near or touching his spine, which is a huge concern that it may cause more damage. We spoke with an Orthopedic Vet, and he estimates the surgery to help Kingsley, will be a minimum of $1,500.

Kingsley’s initial x-rays.

Unfortunately, the last few months have hit us hard with many of the animals we have taken in, requiring very extensive and expensive medical procedures and extra long term extended care.  And, as you all know, prices on everything from cat litter, to cat food and dog food, and everything in between, has skyrocketed.  Our vet bills from the past several months are astronomical.

Angel of Hope is a nonprofit organization, therefore we exist solely on the contributions of individual animal lovers like you. We do not receive funding from any local, state, or federal organizations. We do fundraising, grant-writing, and collect adoption fees, but this revenue does not entirely cover the cost of the direct and indirect care of the animals in our care. And we have 150 animals in our care, at any given time.

The vet bills we have received for the last few months, include several dental procedures, mass removals, X-rays, surgeries, limb amputation, and the list goes on and on - totalling a little over $3,500. And Kinsley's absolutely necessary surgery, brings that total to a little over $5,000. With adoptions down, and everything from supplies to vet care costing so much more than usual, Kingsley has to be the last major medical case we take on, for awhile. We will have to put a temporary hold on accepting any companion animals that will require any extensive medical care. (beyond vaccines and spaying/neutering).  We simply do not have the proper funds or resources to properly care for them.

After we raise enough money for our current vet bills, we can re-open that door.

Our sincere apologies. It breaks our hearts when receive emails and phone calls and inquiries about animals that have been abused or neglected, and need surgeries and other very expensive medical care, and we cannot help them.

So please, consider donating to our 'Broken Wing Fund,' so we can continue to help animals in need, like Kingsley and other animals like him. And please share this post.

Thank you for your continued support.
